The Community Interpreter

Voices For Health has trainers who are certified to teach The Community InterpreterTM curriculum. This is a 40-60 hour core training with an emphasis on medical, educational and social services interpreting. An entry-level curriculum, this program can be taught anywhere in the U.S. It assumes no prior knowledge, yet will enrich and inform interpreters who have practiced in the field for years. This curriculum and the corresponding textbook set the international standard for entry-level interpreter education with hospitals, language agencies, universities, colleges and private programs. It also prepares interpreters to take the national certification exams offered by CCHI or NBCMI.
